After sitting overnight my car doesn’t want to unlock or start after manually unlocking. After several tries I walk away and come back later after half hour or so and it will unlock and start. I don’t know why it’s doing this.

Try replacing the battery in your key(s).

I don’t know how old batteries are. Haven’t had car very long. It seems to be in excellent condition except for this problem that just started. I don’t know about the arming mode it can be set for. I’m wondering if I set it and don’t really know how to clear it if that’s the problem? Because when I go out in the morning to try and unlock to, it won’t open. So then I manually open the driver door. Then all the lights start blinking on and off like it thinks I broke into it.The ignition is locked and won’t turn. I read in the hand book that you can simultaneously hold the lock and unlock buttons for 5 seconds and it should clear it. I try that and still can’t do anything until I walk away for quite awhile. Then come back and press the unlock button and it unlocks immediately and I can start it. But if it sits overnight I’m back at square 1 again.

Thank you all
Wow I hope you are patient with me on this thing. I’m new to this whole forum thing. I posted what I thought was the right place to reply and I guess it wasn’t. I believe it’s number 4 on this thread. Thank you for trying to help me. I think I’m going to have a mechanic look at it. Please read number 4 on this thread if you want to. Thank you

Quote: Try replacing the battery in your key(s).
Key was not recognized by the car but I could start it ..... then I change the battery in my key .. still have trouble with it .... change the batteries twice ... then I had the feeling the pack of batteries was a little to cheap ... bought a known brand and key worked fine again and car could be locked and unlocked.
Also worth noticing is the battery in this little fellow - it's know to play tricks when it gets old and starts to leak battery fluid ... search this forum and you will find more info regarding this.

Thank you for your input. I’m going to check the anti towing thing. I think I pressed it once not knowing what it was. Also I’m going to check my batteries.
