Dyno results of my latest SL55, she's a beast or just a freak!
Wanted to share dyno results on my latest SL55. Best run of the day was in 4th gear which netted 588 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. Best 3rd gear pull netted 590 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. A total of 10 pulls were made with a variance of only 10 wheel horsepower in between each run with the original canned/base tune being the lowest at 580. The top end was purposely left a tad rich to retain a safety margin which obviously left a little power on the table but priorities were in check.
I know that dynos are just tools for measurement and comparison with track times being the ultimate indicator of power. However, I do have close a dozen of previously owned and modified SL's to compare dyno data with and this one is by far the most powerful. That would include a 100% stock SL55 (down to the paper filters) that made 420 wheel horsepower on this same dyno.
Obviously I can't guarantee that this car is going to go out and run 10's all night at the strip. However, I can say without a doubt that it's a riot on the street with immediate power that doesn't ever let up.
awsome numbers you will def run 10's by accident with that kind of power. Curious if you have supercharger plenum work done other then the opening made bigger for the throttle body.

Have you checked your IC pump...your IAT's should be +20 ambient within 30 seconds of a hard run.
I was getting up to 185-190 before changing my pump never saw it past 120 ever again...
The standard hp formula is (trap speed/234) cubed x weight. My 4,265lb (including driver) SL55 did 124 mph so has 635 rwhp. It has all the EC stage 2 kit parts, Pierburg 50 pump, fixed 74mm pulley, no cats, stock exhaust, Quaife diff and a Killer Chiller with a drag valve. It ET'd at only 11.4 sec but that was with a drive off the line, 2.1 sec 60 foot. Getting that down to a reasonable 1.6 sec 60 foot would see it into the 10's. The subject car with 588 rwhp would trap at a little under 121 mph. With a great 60 foot time it might just get into the 10s. Thanks for the info.
