SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Soft close

The hydraulic motor would bring down the trunk lid, and everything would stop there. If you listen close enough, you would hear the valve and pump continue to cycle for a few seconds, and then eventually time out, without the latch "click". The trunk was physically loose where you could lift it up and down a few millimeters.
Upon taking part the trunk lid, I noticed that there were cracks in the plastic round the ball seals and the hose connections. I decided to try a little bit of epoxy as a quick fix before purchasing the entire replacement latch. It ended up working. The result was a quick latch and the valve and pump stopping rather abruptly and not continuing to cycle and time out like before.
