Cooling upgrade help
I'm in the research phase before splurging on a new Heat Exchanger because I'm still experiencing heat-soaking after just a few hard highway accelerations. The upgraded Bosch pump has already been installed.
I'm leaning towards the Weistec Dual Pass H/E, but considering the VRP Speed unit as well.
Has anyone installed either of these H/E?
Any recommendations would be appreciated. The pricing is basically identical unless I go with th XL version VRP unit which is $50 more but it's coolant capacity increases a bit more.

First thing separate the cooling, AMG runs the engine and supercharger coolant together. I put a VRP heat exchanger on and in combination
the coolant leaving the SC was 60 degrees cooler.
The stock heat exchanger is about the size of a clipboard between the radiator and a/c condenser, which is way too small.
With these two mod's I have no problem with it going limp.

With any split heat exchanger setup you'll never get below ambient temps. Since timing is retarded beginning at IAT's of 95 degrees, and significantly beginning at 125 degrees, that's a big problem in warm environments.
Only ways I know of to alleviate this is to either install 1 or more larger intercoolers or utilize a killer chiller system that feeds off your AC system. I did the latter, live in South FL and generally cruise around at 8-9 degrees below ambient conditions ( have seen as much as 23 degrees below ambient on a fully warmed SL55 engine with mid - 70's ambient environment).
