noise from the back of the car
If you hear a flapping sound from the back of your SL, that happens when the gas tank goes bad. My SL55 started have the clonking sound from the back whenever I stop hard or accelerate hard. I took in the car and they needed to change the whole gas tank. The service supervisor says that there is a flap in the gas tank that sometimes comes loose.
