2004 SL65 Best way to lower?

New member here and I apologize if this has been asked and answered previously. I searched and couldn’t find an answer. I recently purchased a nice vehicle which I am trying to set up just right but it seems to sit a little high on the stock 19" wheels. Renntech offers a lowering module but my dealership didn’t have good things to say about it even though I told him I already have and am happy with the ECU HHT I’m using on it. I found a site called LoMo that offers a lowering module that has to be installed under the passengers foot panel. Does anyone have experience with this product and/or are there any better products out there I should be looking at? My goal is to get the best handling possible out of my car. Thanks is advance...

Post the VIN. I have an uninstalled Renntech lowering module that I would sell. Shoot me an offer.

Thanks. I think I am going to go with the Programa V4 Lowering Module from LoweringModules.com.

If the objective is to lower the car just a little, then Star Diagnosis can accomplish this through software. For greater lowering, links as mentioned above work, but for maximum lowering I think you'd want an electronic module to defeat the ABC controller automatically lowering the chassis at speed.

In terms of maintaining ride quality, are links better or the module?

With the links, can you still go up to factory highest setting?

Links physically lower the car by offsetting the height sensor. So, no you cannot go to the previous highest setting.

I lowered mine 1" and am pretty pleased with that. I actually still drive with it raised one "dot" to the medium setting. I feel this gives me the most comfortable ride. I also am keeping my ABC set to Sport mode most of the time.

I presume there is no difference. But in theory for better or worse a module can re-engineer the suspension, though I doubt any attempt to do that.

A U.S. car can be raised c. 1" via the console button. This does not change if you use links. It's my guess any module you buy will also raise about 1".

In my opinion coilovers will be the best for handling, but they will slightly compromise the ride comfort.

A key issue I have experienced sine lowering is excessive camber and inner tire wear. There is not a lot of maneuverability to adjust for this OEM and I will need to go aftermarket to get tires to last more than 5k miles
