Super charger pulley upgrade. 2004 sl55 amg
I have a 2004 sl 55 amg If I make pulley smaller does someone have suggestions what size. I want more power but dont want to do a lot of additional work. Will I have to change intercooler. Will risk car running hot. Thanks also who.is best to get parts from.

That could take him 45 minutes or longer. Surely someone can take three minutes to type two sentences and help this bloke.
Also, while I doubt it applies here, the problem with relying solely upon a search is that too much bad advice and factually incorrect information has been posted in this forum over the years. (Does anyone still believe you can test an accumulator by "bouncing" the suspension?) So I'd encourage members to use the forum search to research a topic, but in most cases I would also start a new thread to verify the validity of what I had found in my search.

It should take 1 minute to search. However the answer is 77mm pulleys are common and yes you will definitely need to upgrade the intercooler. You should also add the belt wrap kit to the pulley work to prevent/minimize slipping. Add a tune and expect 60 - 80 HP and TQ gains. Do a dyno before and after if you want to really know.

A search on "smaller pulley" gives 82 results. I don't think a proper answer could be sussed in less than 30 minutes.
At any rate, your reply is very much appreciated, as to some small degree I was also interested in the answer but not enough to slog my way through all of that old information.

If you don’t want to replace many of the components safest bet would be an 83mm pulley, upgraded IC, and if you want to be super safe a larger heat exchanger.
I recently purchased the new Bosch pump, PLM XL heat exchanger, and will be looking for a smaller pulley soon.

I have an 83 mm pulley with 500 miles for sale. It takes me about 15 minutes to change. You need to large water pump clamps to hold the pulley in place and then reverse them to tighten.
