SL55 AMG Noise Help

If i turn the wheel hard right when slowly backing or slowly going forward at there is a "clunking" sound, almost like a skip feel as if you car just suddenly skidded a short distance. Does not occur if I turn wheel hard left.

Any ideas out there on what this might indicate?

Does the noise come from the front or rear? near the wheel?

May be a wheel bearing.

Front, near right front tire it sounds like.

Sounds like a wheel bearing. Get it checked before a major catastrophe happens.

Mystery solved. Due to steep driveway slope downhill, left front tire was actually skidding sideways when steering wheel turned sharply at just the right time.

Good news is I discovered I had some serious tire issues, particularly with the inside of 1 rear tire, that could have been catostrophic. $1300 later I'm riding on new Michelin's and loving it.
