A red Sl55 in Paris

Hi !

Yesterday I saw a georgous Sl 55 it was red with berry inside with the 19s wheels, I would prefer a black or a cream interior but the Sl in red is so beautiful... The car was parked in the Champs Elysees it was coming from Quatar...

is it somebody from here

bye

IMHO, much as I like Berry Red, it does not go with red cars, too much of a colour clash. With the limited choice of interior colours for the SL55, black or dark gray is best with red.

Not In Paris but Cannes

If you are going to be in Cannes & Saint-Tropez France this coming August you'll see my newly arrived SL 500 2004 with AMG complete package/Designo. However, it's not a Qatar plates but rather a Saudi Arabian. I am going to keep it there for the summer only and ship right back in September.
I got all the options in the book except the distronic.
The price almost reached the basic SL 55 in my country (More or less $ 11,000 difference) Can you believe it ? Nevertheless still paied that much because I really wanted to know what a 7G Tronic drives and feels like and now I know. So I have decided to order me an SL55 either for '05 or '06 depending when the face left is taking place.

Cheers

As a matter of fact, if you think about it, renting an SL in Cannes would cost you 1000 Euro per day and that is if it's available. If the renting company gives a good rate it'll probably be 800 Euro per day. So based on that, you do the math 800 X 30 days = 24,000 Euro ( 28,000 $). Is it worth it?
Now, if you are to rent a small C class there for the same season and period. It'll be around 2,500 - 3,500 Euro (3,000 - 4,200 $).This is more or less how much it'll cost me to ship my car to France.
I hope I have justified my shipment reason.

But just think about the hassles of getting it shipped, the paperwork, the damage to the car in transit, not to mention that the South of France is full of them. You won't even get a parking place in front of the Casino in Monte Carlo if you only have an SL... Whatever the attributes of the SL, and there are many, exclusivity is not one of them.

BlueSL.....do you realize how much of a buffoon you seem like every single time you bash the SL55 over and over again. We get the point....you dont like the SL55....move on with your life already. We really dont want to hear it.

I happen to like the SL55 but equally, I bring a measure of objectivity to this forum. If you don't like my comments, you don't have to read them!

There is nothing objective about your comments that we dont already know about ad nauseum thanks to you....(ad nauseum means until the brink of vomitting)

This is an open Forum, and I like to read the contraversial posts as well as the usual ones.

Blue Sl, please keep on posting, and let us know what you think about the Aston when it arrives. As I have posted before, 'You'll be sorry', and the 55 will seem, on reflection, to have been brilliant in most aspects.

T, if I may correct your Latin, it's "ad nauseam", the Latin for sea-sickness "nausea"/"nausia" being a feminine, not a neuter noun.

You can bluster all you like, I'll continue to post my views. For the sake of your blood pressure, I suggest you avoid reading them or else lie down in a darkened room until your desire to throw up passes.

YES that's it man, a lot f cars came from KSA as SAUD saids themoment in Paris I have only see few bentley continental GT I think that people from Gulf like it alot because you have class,comfort,style,power,performances...in the same car and the price (for this category of cars) is quite good, man it's cheaper than 360 CS

A bucket on wheels
i didn't see a red sl in paris but i saw a red turbo with red interior in london and a white turbo with red interior right next to it right by harrods. Overall i was very unimpressed by the cars in europe. When i lived there a good 10-15 years ago the cars were so nice but i see more SL55's in an hour in los angeles then i did throughout my 2 week trip through europe. Oh and i found it completely odd that the taxis in europe were better then common people's cars. I mean i saw a freaken brand new S class and 7 series in rome and they were taxis!!!! The majority of the taxis are brand new E classes. Dare i say, i contemplated becoming a cab driver.

Yes you will, I arrived in a black/beige SL500 this summer and they put it just in front of the casino, when we came with a Jeep Grand cherokee, we got a ticket and the put it somewhere else. :p
