SL55 AMG upgrade COMAND from 2.0 to NTG2.5 (2009 + harmon/kardon)
I found a thread detailing the upgrade on an R230 SL55 but can't seem to find it now. The upgrade is involved as the harmon/kardon system is entirely different from the Bose system and so you need new amps, harness, etc.
Anyone ever do this upgrade?

Myself and quite a few others have done this upgrade on W211 (which also requires new harnesses and amps). While it is a major step up from the NTG2, I personally do not think it is worth the expense and time involved especially now (2020 ... this means that the units you get are 10+ years old). I would recommend going for a good aftermarket or if you like the factory look, then consider one of the Android units. Just my recommendation. I am planning on doing Focal speakers, sub, Audison DSP/amp and aftermarket stereo in my SL. It'll be quite a bit more than the NTG2.5 retrofit but I think a whole lot more satisfying.
