Today we switched out a semi broken plastic lever in the shifter to a new aluminum. I was starting to get the dreaded issue for stuck in park and had to replace ASAP. The job was fairly easy and following the step by step we ran into very few small obstacles but got it done in a timely fashion. We with new parts and put everything back together just the same was as it came out. Now the shifter with the new part will shift anytime and the shift lock is not working. Very confused if this is programming or something that is mechanical. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I know of the repair you made, but I am unfamiliar with its details. Since there is no programming or any other task associated with switching-out the component you replaced, I presume you have a mechanical issue.
