Trunk stuck

Hi all
I hope one of you can help, l removed the ancillary battery to replace it, shut the trunk and now it won’t open with the small metal key. Is there any way of livening up ancillary circuit from the font of the car so I can try opening using the key fob.

when my aux battery went low (or dead) following winter storage my trunk lid wouldn't open with door release so I used the metal key. Initially I had issues opening the trunk with the metal key but it finally popped after persistence with a manual pull up on the lid. I almost gave up but it finally opened. good-luck.

Try just starting the car.

I would try starting it but where it’s been sat for a while I’ve been starting it every week and now it’s out of fuel.
this normally wouldn’t be a problem but to open the fuel filler cap you need the ancillary battery plugged in which is one I’ve removed from trunk that won’t open.
ive been searching through all the threads and may have found a way in via the trunk brake light. Being a sl55 amg you cant get to the trunk from inside the car so this maybe my only way in.

Isn't there a place to jump or energize from inside the car? I think it's the right passenger side on us cars. Behind the seat where the compartment is. Lift the false floor and you will see a RED cable with a quick disconnect. Perhaps a fresh 12V on that may give you enough to click the lock? I had to cut the trunk lid behind the plate on my CL because the last guy who was in there discoed the manual lever. Anyway if you don't have that issue you can shoot some lube up the keyhole and keep trying to open it. I was told it sticks from non use. I tried for days until I found the rod discoed

Maybe you already know this but make sure you turn the metal key as far as it'll turn then while holding it there use the trunk latch.

Just for grins check fuse 71 (20 amp fuse behind the passenger seat). It protects the PSE pump.

I had similar issues along with other symptoms. Having to replace at least the motor and impeller vanes in the PSE pump box.
