Had the plastic seat trim between the door and seat break on my SL63 (r230) and wanted to replace it. The part is inexpensive new about $50. Supply your VIN to make sure you have the correct color. You’ll need to specify drivers seat or passenger seat side. Tools - small screw driver to remove the locking washer, you’ll need a T20 for 2 bolts. Slide your seat as far forward and as high as possible. Remove the plastic cap/plug remove the locking washer (small screw driver - can be tricky be careful not to damage the surrounding trim piece. Remove the screw that’s attached to the same piece located behind the seat with a T20 bit. Pull up on the locking tab to release that trim piece. Slide your seat back keeping it raised. Now open the center console located at the base of your seat. Remove the screw that is attached on the side of the broken trim piece with a T20 bit. At this point you would pull the trim piece up. It’s simply resting on hooks and you pull it up. Unplug the wires going to the switch, press the tabs the release the switch from the trim piece. Installation is simply the reverse.
