From the N. Shore, Long Island?

Would love to converse with the person in the SL65 who was driving on Jericho Turnpike a couple of weeks ago. (I'm the guy in the Black SL55 that pulled up at the light).

Regards,

Hi Chris,

I live on the North Shore of Nassau county. I saw the 65 on Jericho tpke in Woodbury. There are two SL55's in my neigborhood including mine. SL500's are essentially all over the place, so the 55's stand out, but the 65 really stands out if you are not a novice. I was surprised by how quite the 65 was. I am debating buying one, but would really like to talk to an owner before I do. When I have time, I'll test drive the 65 and make my decision.

BTW, how do you like the E55?

Hey how are you? I love my E55. Drove the SL at the AMG challenge in Miami a few months ago. Both the CL and SL 65 is a LOT of money. Not sure if it's worth the difference in everyday driving, and not really a track car. For that kind of cash your now talking Ferrari, Lambo, etc.! If I had that kind of money on a car, I would rather do an E55 and a 911 turbo. Best of both worlds

Hi Chris,

I don't disagree with your observations re: Ferrari and Lambos. However, what I need is an everyday car (or almost everyday). As much as I like the Lambo's (not a great Ferrari fan), they are most definitely not an everyday type of car. I've toyed with the idea of trying to get one of the new Ford GT's, but there again, its about 150K for what will be garage candy most of the time.

With regard to the 65, you have pin pointed my concerns exactly. I really like the 55 and I too wonder if the added performance of the 65 is worth 60k plus more (I could buy and beat on a vette for that amount. However, my wife wants me to get the 65 so she could have the 55.).

Anyway, if you see a black 55 with ch. grey interior, wave and say hi.

Best regards,

Lew
