SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Problems with Sl 55 amg 2003 model
Having some problems with a SL55 amg 2003 model.
When im driving and give full throttle, sometimes the kompressor shuts down and it runs without the kompressor, with just the power from the v8 engine. And it doesn`t come up any failure sign in the display.
Also, the convertible wont go down anymore. Windows goes down, put after that its no more.
gets a failure sign that says the lid in the back isnt locked?
Anyone experinced this before? what to do?
Best regards,
-Torfinn

Check fuse F71. It’s the yellow 20 amp fuse behind the passenger seat. If it’s blown, there is probably an issue with the PSE pump in the trunk.
Can you open your trunk?
I will order this bosch pump and give it a try. I really hope it will fix the problem.
The fuse was broken! god damn! changed it, and now it works! thank you!
I can open my trunk with the spare key that follows the main key. I think maybe the soft close in my trunk is gone as well. but that runs on air? maybe a new soft close engine would do the trick?

The fuse fixed the symptom, but not the problem. It will blow again.
There are a couple of places that could have issues. It could be a vacuum leak in the trunk latch/lock mechanism.
Or, there could be a problem with the PSE vacuum motor or pump. The pump is a small vane-style pump attached to the end of a motor. All of that sits inside the actual PSE pump housing. The rest of the box contains a circuit board and the solenoids that direct the vacuum to the various components.
Either way, the pump motor is running too long after use and is blowing the fuse.
Replacing either the trunk latch or the PSE is relatively simple. I've done both. First, the trunk latch due to a leaking connection. I could have fixed it with epoxy - I opted for a new part.
Six months later, I replaced the PSE box. I was going to replace just the motor and vane pump - but, the parts took too long to be delivered and opted for a new box. I now have the repaired unit as a spare.
