Sl55 transmission / gearbox
Right just want to keep this quick and brief as possible without going off topic and i cant seem to find anything recent
i have a 2003 sl55 amg
around 630ftlb and 575 bhp
i would like to consider going for a gearbox upgrade
i know there is the typical £300-500 tcu upgrades that improve shifting etc,
is there any other things recommended that will help with the power and drivetrain, i do have a quaife fitted, im more thinking is there like gearbox internals / valvebodys etc that will all help, i hear a mixture of reviews on the tcu tune so im not sure,
i hear the box’s are bulletproof.
im currently having issues where when I accelerate harshly the box will sometimes slip into neutral and i have to right slow down for it to engage into gear then off i go again, so whilst have the box inspected is there anything i should do whilst its open to get it done and dusted and hopefully gain a nice quicker box to go with the higher power
