ABC Block rebuild

2003 SL55 under 40K miles but the roads here aren't friendly to the abc. A few months ago I removed the front abc block for overhaul. Removing the block assembly I noticed very fine rather alarming metal particles coming from ONE line. Only one line had this. The other lines were decently clear abc fluid. This R&R would be my third as I did both of the ones on my CL. I didn't swap the teflon rings on any of them as they looked perfect. I inspected the solenoids, checked for travel and cleaned them all out. I am still having the front right drop in minutes after I stop the car. The car won't let star do the load adjustment. I forget why but wasn't travel sensor. As per the previous owner, car haad the front left swapped out trying to chase the issue. Now the left is dropping. Both front sides eventually drop but the right gets lower than the left. The rear of the car has no hieght issues.

I really appreciate any feedback at all.

Anyone? What would deposit fine metal particles in one line? I'm on the fence about going coil over but I know if I try to keep the abc it gets crazy expensive. I have way more than I care to admit in the CL.

Provided the valve block and its components have no issues, it’s possible the ABC tandem pump is on its way out. I can’t think of anything else that would present metal particles within the system. Is there a history of changing out the ABC filter and fluid every two or so years? The system should be overmaintained like that.

Perhaps installing one of the Magnefine magnetic filters in the return line to the reservoir a few years ago might have been a good idea. I installed one immediately after buying my car in 2015 ('03 with 45K). It provides a bit of additional safety regarding any fine metal parts in circulation with the Pentosin.

Check this link, scroll down to my post, which is #6: https://www.benzworld.org/threads/gr...anges.1899889/
