Jump starter on MB cars

I bet many have already or will face battery issues during the pandemic closure. One good piece of equipment to have is portable jumper starter pack like those made by NOCO. Then I read this line in my SL55 manual in jump starting section, "Do not attempt to start the engine using a battery quick charge unit." What is battery quick charge unit? The manual is probably put together in early 2000's so the wording may be a bit outdated. Question is, is it safe to use portable jumper starters on Mercedes vehicles?

Yes. I do not know what a quick charge device is, but possibly it outputs considerably more than 12 VDC.
