Hey everyone. I just replaced the consumer battery in the trunk last week. Everything was good except the car still sounded weak turning on, so today I replaced the starter battery under the hood.
After replacing the battery under the hood with a genuine battery from the dealer, the car says “battery visit workshop” in red. Never got this message before in any of my cars.
Drove about 5 miles but the message is still there. Hooked it up to a trickle charger for an hour, still getting the message.
Did I get a faulty battery? I know my alternator is good, I tested it for good measure a little while back before I bought the car. Just wanted to replace the batteries because they were both from 2015.
Just cleared the code, and was good. Have no idea why it was tripped in the first place. I’ve replaced many Mercedes batteries in my lifetime, including for the R230.
