Question R230 EIS (N73) 80AMP FUSE BLOWING Why?

This my 2nd R230 I have encountered with a blown 80amp fuse (EIS) in the Passenger side foot well. SL55 & SL500
(I am posting because these fuses are hard to access and should be covered vs what wheel goop to use.)

On a 2003 SL500 EIS fuse keeps blowing in key position 2 only, other life signs seem normal, In position 1. I'm afraid to connect star before I have an idea where shorts are or could be.

Has anyone ever encountered chronic hard short on this line? (front end collision cosmetic, steering wheel & knee bags deployed. Front illumination disconnected}

My thoughts initially were to attack the passenger side SAM first since the starter relay located there. Since WIS shows both front SAM s connected to EIS (N73) Ignition module. Checking the C1 signal line will be tried first, Thank You for that. This 80amp N73 fuse also blew on a different SL55 car that was flooded to the seat bottoms which simply replacing that fuse after dry out was corrected. Case histories can change focus.
Again thanks and the cause with photos will be reported here.

Just sold my '11 Porsche TurboS cab for an '03 SL55!
I would think you are looking at a hard short too. I'd have to study the schematic and look for whatever is downstream of the relay(s?) that are energized in key position 2, as it must be one of those circuits.
