Hi All, Lost the supercharger belt on my 2007 SL55. Was able to limp it around the corner to my local Indi shop. Initial inspection...obviously belt broken, supercharger pulley coming apart, and tensioner failing, according to the pictures. $2870.00 in parts, $560 in labor.......JEEEZZZZ. I think I will tow it home and do some upgrades. Definately smaller diameter pulley. I already have the upgraded Bosch pump. Does anyone make a upgraded pulley kit? Any advice? Thanks in advance.
UPD makes a pulley kit and smaller crank balancer. Depending on your SC pulley and crank size you should consider split cooling and upgraded heat exchanger. Also should consider a belt wrap kit while you are at it
Got the project completed a couple of weeks ago. The pulley kit and belt wrap were pretty straight forward to swap out. The heat exchanger was a bit of a challenge to fit and mount, but all in all, not a bad install. The tune was the final step to bring it to completion. Now I need to get a limited slip diff and a trans kit. The scatter shield looks like some cheap insurance. I think I will look at buying one of those. Thank you for the input.
