Hi folks. My ‘05 SL55 AMG, 56K miles has developed a very slight oil leak near the transmission. Here are a couple pics. Can you tell me exactly what this is? There are a couple of small black plastic covers, one of which is moist. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

My '03 with 76k miles has similar if not worse seepage. In my case its not coming from up high, so I believe its the rear main. But it's not enough to wet the garage floor so I'll be living with it until for some other reason either the engine or the trans comes out. That is unless it starts to gush.......then I'm stuck to fix it. I can't stand leaks, but big $ may be worse.
Oddly, Legit Street Cars just posted a Mercedes maintenance video. In it, Alex points to an area with seepage that looks very similar to mine. He actually said it was no big deal at all. I haven’t even noticed any since I first posted this. Thanks for opining. .
