SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: ESP Fault

ESP Fault
Hi all,
It's been awhile since I've posted but I just encountered a fault code while driving.
After getting an inspection done I started driving away from the shop and noticed that I had zero acceleration and noted there was an ESP, take vehicle to shop error displayed. Pulled into a parking lot and restarted the vehicle. The error code went away but am wondering what caused it and will it come back.
Doing a quick search on the forum indicates a faulty TPS. Does anyone have additional input? It's an '05 SL55 which is stock and has 52K miles. Outside of known issues the car has been faultless - lol.

Couple things it can be. For me it was the accelerator pedal. For me, it only happened when I went WOT (wide open throttle aka pedal to the metal). Every time I floored it I got the esp fault and would have to turn car off and on again to clear. Bought a used pedal on eBay replaced it and never had an issue again
