SL55 resonators needed

Anyone have any SL55 resonators they want to sell? I had them taken off when I had my headers put on (which eliminated primary and secondary cats) and the sound is just too loud and not to my liking. The shop kept the cats to give back to me but I guess had already sent the resonators off to scrap even though I told them to keep them for just this reason.

You may want to check with S Auto parts in Oregon (Slava81 on ebay). This yard breaks a lot of R230s (and I have bought more than a few SL55 parts from him over the years).

On my SL55, I kept the rear cats, resonators and mufflers (renntech mufflers) installed when I put on the mid-lengths and have been VERY happy with the sound.

Cheers,
Chris

i shot them a message. in the meantime i also had the secondary cats put back on and that helped tremendously. the main thing i dislike about the setup now is that at lower rpms and lower throttle it is making a bit of a puffing noise. i'm not sure if that is b/c of the headers and primary cats being deleted or if that is from the resonators being gone. i test drove a SL65 at the dealer a few months back that had some sort of exhaust work done and it sounded very similar.

While I don't know what (frequencies) the factory resonator does or doesn't remove or improve, I can say that they seem to do a perfect job on my SL55 (and I have NOT heard any "puffing"). Now on my SLK32, with the cats out and the factory muffler replaced with a Borla xr-1, the factory resonator needed the help of a Helmholtz Resonator I built/tuned to remove some drone.

My setup - MBH long tube headers, delete primary cats and leave all the other **** on (secondary cats, resonators, mufflers). No huffing or puffing, no drone or obnoxious loud sounds. But when you go WOT, it sounds wicked!.
