What's the smallest wheel/fattest tire combo that will fit on the SL55?
Hey all, picking up my new to me bone-stock 2004 SL55 and of course I'm already planning my mods. The easiest thing to personalize a car is always wheels and tires so that's what I'm researching now. I've always been a fan of old muscle cars, and some people refer to the SL55 as a German muscle car so it got into to my head. I want to maybe have some sidewall and push the rubber out beyond the rim, and I'm hoping some in here maybe have ideas on size/backspacing of wheels and width of tires, or maybe just some inspiring SL55 pictures (I have gone through the pic thread, but there aren't really any I found that are nailing the look I'm going for). For now I'm thinking of staying with 18" rims, but it seems like most made now are 19". In case it helps here's an old restomod mustang that kinda follows the look I would go for. Thanks!
BTW when I say I'm planning mods, that's after going through a thorough maintenance and refreshing of the car in stock form. Worn out parts, new pulleys, water pump, suspension stuff, etc.
