Hey guys,

Need new brake rotors on the rear of my 2004 SL55. It’s got the solid ones, full cast iron all the way across.

always keen to reduce rotating weight I fitted GiroDisc ones on the front, saved 12-15lbs a corner.

don’t really want to spend that cash on the rears, where the reduction will be less, so wondering if the post-facelift rears from the SL55/65/63 will fit? They are the ones with the alu hat in the centre and they are a lot lighter.

Assume the bolt pattern is the same, and hub size, etc, just wondering about the offset of the disc, etc.

Anyone done this?

Yes, the SL55 Evo can take the rotor from the earlier cars and the standard Evo rotors will work on the early cars.
