I know it’s a long shot…Looking for original carpet mats embroided “SL55” in either all black or red.
I recently did an extensive search for all remaining R230 Floor mats in Berry Red and Black - - looking for "SL55" or "AMG" versions in particular.
I was looking because I posted years ago that I had a new (still in bag) "AMG" set of Berry red mats available (Actually 2 sets as I ended up selling my used set as well since someone HAD to have them) - - and I STILL get emails years later (at least 1 email every 2 months) from someone looking for them (hence my recent search).
Armed with ALL of the mercedes part numbers for R230 mats in all configurations (snap clip, mat clip, and no clip), I looked again ("sl55" and "AMG" in particular) and found none ACCEPT I did find a GREAT deal on new Black mats (charcoal) still in stock from mercedes for $70/pair. TO BE CLEAR, these are NOT marked "SL55" or "AMG", but rather "Mercedes" ... they are however the "snap clip" version (most desirable IMO, these have built in snaps that attach to the nubbins in your factory carpet). I am not suggesting that this is a solution for you or anyone with an AMG, BUT the price is very good .... and even though my 2003 Berry red SL55 already has "AMG" mats in very good condition (black because I think that looks better, see attached PIC ), I bought a set of these "Mercedes" logo'd mats to hang on to as they likely wont be in stock forever.
I will attach the page from the Mercedes mat catalog that lists all of the part numbers for all of the colors/snap configurations for the R230s as this may help in your search, but I would suggest to anyone that is OK with black to get a set of these
I actually just lucked out and found a like new set on eBay embroided “AMG” identical to the ones you have in your car. Although it’s not “SL55”, I’m happy with it.

I bought a set with mercedes logo a couple years ago from ebay. Fit well. I put away the original designo mats. Glad I did. The Designo mats list for $1145.
Well for anyone looking I cracked the case. Found an eBay vendor that did a custom run for me in a color they call “weinrot”. It’s a perfect fit and a 99% color match. Also image that the surrounding carpet has 20 years of wear.
They won’t embroidery SL55, but you can get that locally if you want.
It’s about $100 usd and take about a month from order to delivery.
