SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: SL55 Weistec Upgraded Supercharger tune - tech advice needed
I've been battling with a 2006 Mercedes SL55 for a couple of days. The vehicle came in with the Weistec Supercharger on and larger injectors (~650cc).
The Weistec tune made an average of 480whp which is near enough stock territory after 2 back to back runs, so decided to give it a go. I'm hitting a hiccup just before going into WOT, not sure if it could be Fuel Enrichment lagging, or the lower throttle body mismatching the inlet throttle torque demand.
Even with the hiccup, the motor pulled off 580whp max so far. We are getting into boost, but doing another back to back run it drops 80whp. I know heat soak wasn't a problem since the vehicle is upgraded with a Weistec Ice Tank Reservoir in the trunk. What I am debating now is if the problem could be with the lower throttle body closing than flicking open and close again.
Scanning the MED2.8 ECU is painstakingly slow which isn't helping me diagnose what the culprit could be. If you know of a fast scanner please do let me know below as I'm getting about 2 frames per second on some PIDs and 1 frame per second on others.
Has anyone experienced this type of problem? I know on a few E55s I've tuned with the stock magnetic pulley I have faced the sudden hiccup than all power. Since this being a roots style blower with a solid pulley I shouldn't be facing this problem.
I am not getting any DTC codes.
I will be giving her another R&D session tomorrow morning with more maps added for adjustment to see how we fair out.
