AMG ash interior w/ black steering wheel
It's just a matter of personal taste, but I find the black steering wheel a little out of place with the ash/dark ash interior option on the SL55. Has anyone tried to special order a car with a color matched wheel and instrument cluster hood?
The two obvious solutions don't work for me: (1) go with the SL600 (I have an even bigger issue with wood steering wheels), or (2) go with the charcoal interior.

All SL55's have leather steering wheels. They do not make another color so you are stuck with your choices as you outlined. Have you thought about all black which is a new option in 2005?

You can order your steering wheel at the AMG Manufaktur in almost any color - as well a leather covering of the airbag in the steering wheel. See as well at the AMG manufaktur cataloge
