Not an expert but, differences in crosspipes, different exhausts, different ECU (remapped software.) Possibly intake differences?
The G55/E55 engine has a wider rpm range of torque compared to the 500bhp models, the above mentioned differences in engine configurations account for this, hence also the slightly lower HP.

What Bilal said is essentially correct and a lot of that difference is implemented in Software of through devices like the Y- intake that is usually the first mod E55 buyers perform on their cars after purchase.

I forgot to add, with supercharged engines, you can remap the ECU to give you either more torque or more HP. The G55/E55/CLS55 engines have remapped ECU software add to that the various differences, and you get the lower hp and more torque spread....
To see the potential outcomes of doing such remappping, look at MKB's kits for the supercharged engine.

I also agree with the rest of the guys, software, exhaust items, etc. that make the difference in HP and TQ between the two vehicles. It's interesting to see how some of these small differences here and there can make a fairly significant difference in hp and performance.
