Got a big abc leak from the front hose in a 2004 sl55 r230
Got a big abc leak from the front hose in a 2004 sl55 r230? The red abc light is on and there is some fluid on the ground. Could I just replace the hose?
There is plenty of fluid left in the reservoir. So the pump didn't run dry. The power steering don't work either. Is it normal for the car to shut off the pump in the event of a big leak? The error code says pressure too low. It was working fine just a few hours ago. The front hose by the radiator appears to be leaking. I already replaced the one that runs under the engine. Is it supposed to disable the steering too?

The high-pressure hose coming from the pump is more than likely relatively easy to replace or have a replacement made up by a local hydraulic shop. If you are going to have one made up, you need to bring the old hose to the repair shop so they can reuse the metal ends and get all the twists and turns correct. Without the correct angle, it will not fit back!
