Finally reached the 1000+ mile mark with my SL65 so I could really put my foot in it today. All I can say is.....scary fast!!! Acceleration is so smooth that the incredible speed you are traveling is difficult to sense until you are upon or overtaking another vehicle. I have been fortunate to have owned a lot of very fast toys but they all gave you more feeling of speed than this beast. I have a 03' CL55 too and there is a significant difference (more than the published numbers depict) between the two. Wow! is the understatement on this car.

Heh heh heh. I know what you mean, Ron - the car is deceptively fast. There's not a lot of speed sensation (no rough shifts, power peaks, etc) but the MPH accumulates very quickly.
