2003 SL55
640/765hp Renntech SL55
Just read a couple of posts on SL55 vs SL600. Maybe thats why MB has made the two models. I personally opted for the more "sporty" of the two. For those of you who have seen and heard my car can testify that it does not sound or perform like a standard MB.
The list of work is comprehensive and has been morphed by several different tuners but the majority of the work has been done by Meridian Automotive in Los Angeles and I could not recommend them enough.
The car has not lost a drag race yet. The biggest challenge from a dead stop is simply traction (especially w/N2O) after that...bye..bye! I say drag race because on track days the car is just too heavy and gets picked off bye 360's and GT3's, hence that's why a F430 is on order. But you have to remember for an all around daily driver with a retractable hardtop and the comfort level of a private plane, you cannot beat these cars.
I have finally had some pictures taken for the people who have asked.
Enjoy,
RB

2003 SL55
Why no 1/4 track #'s? Sure would like to see some....The car has not been to an actual dragstrip yet. We have used a G-meter as a benchmark. A best time of 12.00 was done without traction control and 0-60 at 3.9. With N20 on a best of 11.63. 0-60 times are not improved much because of lack of traction at 3.8.
Great car! What can they do to an E55 or E500 (brakes and engine?)Meridian has done several E55s. I am sure they could do most everything done to mine.
What wheels are these? Also what size are the wheels and tires? The wheels are HRE 543R 20x9fr & 20x10r. Tires currently are Bridgestone SO-3 245/35 & 275/30. The centers are painted MB Techtite as are all the emblems and grills.

2001 Lorinser Edition CL600 (SOLD)
There's one of Meridian's Renntech SL55s on ebay for sale right now:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW
What do you think? It's got zero bids thus far which would indicate to me that it's priced too steeply, especially for an '04 already with 10,000 miles.
We all know too well that aftermarket accessories NEVER hold their values on resale, including engine mods like this.
So, what's the right price for this vehicle?

Cars and boats!
drooooooool.... did RENNTech install the N2O kit? Wet Kit? Dry Kit? Direct Port? What shot-jet r u running? I might be interested in getting on the gun... my buddies stock C32 on lots of N2O alone pulled off a high 11 second run. Ive only been hessitant with running N2O b/c RENNTech remapped my ECU for the Pulley kit (which they did to yours as well), my timing would be advanced (with N2O, i knwo you are supposed to retard timing instead). Who knows, if it all works out, ill be spraying the **** out of my motor soon.
btw, you car looks absolutely SICK!!!

Congrats on the car, it looks tough and has the power to back it up as well, very nice aero kit and wheels as well. What suspension is on the car??

From what I remeber Bliss telling me the suspension is stock with a Brabus lowering module. Looks like the lake in Westlake Village to me.

Simply incredible!
Love the interior, change the seats and youll save weight around 220lbs, but with those alcantra inserts Idont know if I would do it even thought if performance was what I was looking for. Best SL55 Ive seen so far.

Bliss, that's a beautiful SL55 with great attention to details. One can see the time, effort and enthusiasm you invested into this AMG, not to mention enjoyment. Also, wasn't your SL55 at the Pasadena Rose Bowl get-together this past summer? I recall the striking look of those 20" HREs, black chrome emblems, blacked-out cornering lights, etc. from some pics posted.
