secondary air injection help
hi folks i have this check engine light i thought it was the pump so i replaced it but that didn't work i was wondering if the experts on here had experienced the same? (2003 SL500) is it a fuse that's burnt out cause i can't find a burnt fuse!? do you mind posting a fuse diagram
i mean if it's not the fuse what else could it be?

easy for you to say. What do you mean : you can just code it out??? How about a hint on how to accomplish that? Cannot find any instructions any where... Do you start by taking off the wheels? The bumpers? What?

I have replaced the sai pump, the switch over valve and the relay. The CEL still comes on intermittently, every now and then. Just came back from a 70 mile run. Urban, stop and go, freeway. NO CEL..
Am looking at the two EGR valves next to the blower in the front of the engine. No vac leaks. Idle smooth at 550.
Any more ideas. Car has 108K miles.

Yes, MB diagnostic system. I don't know about the smog test. I suppose it depends on what they check. As far as I know once coded out the computer wouldn't think the system exists so it would report everything is normal. Maybe ask around some local tuning shops? They may have experience tuning MB and passing smog tests in your area.
