Hello everyone. Unable to find much info in past threads, so starting a new one. Feel free to direct me to relevant older threads ...
Looking to replace a high-mileage engine with a lower mileage one, in my 2007 SL65.
Questions: 1) will ANY model year m275 engine work for the swap—or do I have to stay with a 2007 model year, and 2) are there aftermarket turbos available or do I have to stay with Mercedes.
Thank you.

I just swapped a 2007 or 2008 AMG M275 engine from a CL65 into my 2004 SL600. Due to differences between CL65 and SL65 engines, I had to swap the oil pump, oil pans, turbo cooling lines, the intercooler cooling lines, engines mounts, engine harness and some other parts. Since my SL600 engine had only 27,000 miles on it, I decided to use all my original major accessories. I basically stripped it down to a long block. I installed a bunch of new parts too, including serpentine pullies, tensioner and starter motor. I redid all the vacuum lines with silicone lines.
IIRC the older and newer M275 use different cam sensors, but that is easily changed. My seller, who is a member here and very experienced with AMG engines, had just rebuilt the engine and I therefore didn't need much in the way of gaskets.

IMHO, you should be able to make any 2005 - 2008 (maybe even later) AMG M275 engine work as long as you are willing the swap the parts I mentioned if needed.

I am working on a detailed article on all the steps of the swap which would apply to even a straight engine swap. PM me and I will email it to you with my phone number. Be happy to help you.
My AMG engine has the stock MB turbo housings, but with billet internals to reduce lad and perhaps give a bit more power.

I have a complete set of 2007 V12 AMG parts available: Crankshaft (in good condition with rods and bearings), turbos (2), intercoolers (2), Cylinder heads (2), and all the other miscellaneous parts for that same engine. I will take $1500 (including the motor freight shipping cost for all the parts in the C-USA

I would like to have the pair of charge coolers for a project.
