Really could be lots of things,try to start it in neutral maybe the bushing is faulty in the transmission. Could be anything from faulty key to faulty EIS or starter to wiring. If you can’t work on this yourself, I would suggest at least getting a proper scan tool to try and diagnose this. These cars really aren’t for people who can’t wrench or diagnose issues, they will drain your bank account

No indication what year or model the car is? or what happens when you turn the key to start? Could be anything from crank sensor, out of gas, dead squirrels in the air intake, etc. A Benz dealership service department could figure out the problem if you have unlimited cash resources, and will be happy to lie to you with a list of thousands of dollars worth of other repairs they recommend that the car doesn't even need at all. Anyone who owns any Mercedes needs to have a local mechanic or shop that knows these cars and is honest. Good luck with that.
