That has been posted here a few times. It was taken by "draggingcents." It was my understanding that it was a brand new delivery to be put up for sale and that was the first day the lot received it. Redlined it a few times with only delivery miles and posted the video on the web for all to see. They then tried to sell it on autotrader but the word was out that the under 3000 rpm break in period of 1000 miles was taken to a new level. Net loss of several thousand when they could have tacked on a premium. All around nice work.

Our SL65 could do even better ... :-) if we want...

Hello Doctodd

Of course it is really hard "work" to floor the pedal of a SLR and to start a competition on public roads ....

If you compare the SL65 (220t €) and an SLR (440 t€) {prices in France} there is NOT that much difference on straight line performance - in reality on highways - you will not gain that much time with the SLR.

BOTH are not trackday cars.....

Anyway - normal SLR users are not "raping" their cars like this - as I could see this year summer at an event in the South of France.

wish you a nice weekend

Walter

Nice video - but if its true that the car was abused before delivery - who would do that? Most dealers I know understand that cars like the SLR should not get abused like that early on. Oh well.

Never trust that a dealer or customer hasn't run the nuts out of the car you are buying "off the lot". I refuse to buy anything that wasn't factory ordered and my salesman has a very good understanding with me about allowing anyone to drive my car before I pick it up.

The abuse of that SLR is disgraceful.

Regardless, to answer the original topic question -- the SLR stock is faster than the SL65 stock, although the difference is fairly small (123 vs 127 trap speeds). It remains to be seen how different the stock SLR is from a RENNtech SL65. I hope to answer that question soon

Treynor, you seem to be very well respected at other message boards, especially of the competition. ;-) Good job.

The original point of my post was to show how the SLR just walked away from the E55. Im assuming your SL65 does it even better. Cant wait for the Renntech mods.
