SL55/63/65/R230 AMG: Brakes feel spongy??

Brakes feel spongy??
i brought my 04 SL55 in to have the brakes looked at for excessive squeeling. (yes, I know they can do that) The dealer ended up changing the rear rotors and now although the brakes work, they feel totally different then when I brought the car in, and the best discription would be "spongy" Further they "pop" when I release the brake pedal. I asked them if there was air in the lines but they said no. They said everything was normal. Of course it feels totally different after they serviced it. BTW, the squeeling is now worse. Any ideas? My confidence with this dealership(Fletcher Jones Las vegas) is non existent as previously they couldn't even balance my tires or align the car correctly. Not to mention the countless times of returning the car to me and saying there was nothing wrong and me having to have the service manager agree there was a problem and finally correct the situation.
