AMG SpeedShift Converter

I was reading the description and I saw this.....

"features torque converter lockup in all forward gears."

What does this exactly means.....?

thanks

I think this means the gearbox eliminates slip. In conventional autos, the gearbox robs alot of power from the engine. The engine is always connected but once you put your foot down, the torque converter allows a gradual power delivery as you'll find in many autos. This robs power and gives you a lag feeling when accelerating, you can feel the slippage occur. With lockup in all gears, you get instant acceleration and very little slippage, of course (some) smoothness is compromised but the end result is much faster acceleration and instant throttle response. Combined with more low down torque from the engine you get very sharp acceleration....
