Production Numbers?
As some of you know, a friend's contact at AMG told me that they could shave significant time off of my delivery (read: 3 months or so) and also do modifications, but I am supposed to supply them with some sort of reference number.
From what I understand, the PO# is assigned to the car pre-vin, about 2 weeks before manufacturing. If my math is correct, that doesn't give them enough time to be able to shave 3 months off.
So I'm a little confused as to what number I'm supposed to give and / or get from my dealer. He isn't terribly clued in. Unfortunately it's past midnight in Germany so I can't call them either.

When asked about dealer allocations for the SL55:
"The biggest dealer in the US (Fletcher Jones, Newport beach) will get 5 per model year..."
Other Dealers:
"Our guess is one per dealer"
Speculated premium for SL55 OVER MSRP, for those who wish to sell their SL after taking delivery:
"20K-50K is probably close..."
