Spacers Anyone?
Anyone put spacers on the OEM forged wheels for the R231?
I think the fronts could use somewhere around 5mm and rears maybe 15mm. These numbers are just a guess, would love to see anyone who has done it with some pics. Probably need longer bolts too.

you probibly can use 10 all around and they arent the same as the one in your pic. you need flanged hub centric for mercedes and add 10mm for bolts. hr makes the set or you can buy everything on ebay cheaper

Re-upping this thread since I finally got around to ordering and installing the spacers on the back. It looks sooooooo much better.
Wolfman's posts were definitely very helpful, thanks.
I went with 12mm in the back and it's perfect. I agreed with Wolfman and others that 20mm was too much in the rear. I did H&R spacers and H&R bolts.
I will be putting 5mm on the fronts, and then it will be perfect all the way around.

Installed spacers on my SL63 earlier this week. Went with 10mm up front and 15mm out back. Certainly could be more aggressive, but didn't want to have the tires extend beyond the wheel wells..The goal was for it to look a little more aggressive without significantly changing the driving dynamics.
Before: you can see the tires seem almost inboard
Before
After: tried to get the same angle
After: really happy with how it turned out.

That was certainly a consideration and the reason that I went very conservative with the spacers. I’ve driven the car over 500 miles and no concerns even over Philadelphia potholes.
Whike it might look like the tires extend past the fenders, the outer most inside of the tire is actually even with the top of the wheel wells
