SL63 Transmission

SL63 Transmission
Hi, i have an issue with my transmission in my SL63 (2009). It had a whine noise to which sounded like a pump noise. So i took it to our local Transmission place and had it stripped down and supposedly reconditioned. After picking it up, the noise had gone, until i put the foot down to kick it down a gear and it reappeared. This has been an on going problem which the Auto specialist seem to have no idea what it is, because it only happens after giving it a few more herbs when driving.
If anyone has had a similar issue i would appreciate your feedback, or any auto guru's would be even better.
Cheers.

No still not resolved unfortunately. Still sound’s transmission related to me, but transmission reconditioning specialist’s don’t seem to think so. Having worked as a motor mechanic myself for 30 years or so, I’m yet to be convinced. When it appears it’ll stay noisey, even in park it will change pitch with the engine revs. I’ve suspected the oil pump bush/bearing all along, but they presumably have replaced it. Others have suggested something to do with the hydraulic system, which has me stumped why. It’s definitely not overheating issues.

I have a similar issue with my 2013.
In the limited time I’ve had with my SL, I’ve let her have it pretty good a couple times which I’m sure hurried along the following… the symptoms are consistent with a failing pulsation damper. Fortunately, it’s a 10-minute repair on the M157 - I’ve already ordered a replacement and should be able to knock it out myself in the next week or so.
Once the engine oil is really warmed up, and the car is pushed above 3k rpm, that’s when I’m getting symptoms. Driving easy keeps it at bay (comfort mode).
Hope this can help point in the right direction to help you find it (if still looking).

The pulsation damper fixed my issues. It was not a 10-minute job; my damper was seized to the pump (dissimilar metals). The hex head broke off and in the end I had to use a chisel to break it free. Was a quick button-up afterward. Torque spec is 45 nm (31 ft lbs).
Hope this helps someone.
