So, is this car a flop?

So, is this car a flop?
Stopped by a local dealership. Haven't been there in a while. They pulled up my name on their database and saw that I've purchased a few cars from them, retail and wholesale, years back.
Without me even asking, they offered me at MSRP.
anyone else?

They should all be sold at MSRP, why would that make it a flop? In this economy, I would say it is a huge success if they can sell them at MSRP.

E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
Agree. Too early to tell. Keep in mind...
that at MSRP, that is about a $24000 gross profit for the dealer, without holdback, and about a $6000 commission at the average MB store. So even a bit of discounting makes for a good day.

I'm pretty sure I could get that car done...
for under MSRP. If somebody has the readies for this and wants to, email me. I'll hook you up with these folks.
Yes, it is a lot of $$. But it is tough to find that combination of performance, rarity, and reliability.

06 CLS55 AMG & 08 CL65 Mystic White
This vehicle will be 70 Cents on the dollar a year from now. If you wanna save 100K then wait it out.
I just bought a 08 CL65 60K off sticker. And trust me, it's not a flop just a sign of the times.

AMG & RR
Its not a flop its a waste of money when a year from now it will depreciate rapidly as HouTxCLS55 stated. Now an SLR or SLS would be good to buy right now instead IMO.

In this arena, everything depreciates rapidly...
and since the SLR is discontinued, and there is currently so SLS for sale, I still like the 65 BS. I do wish the top went down though. But that sound!

Dealers can't sell it for under MSRP, I was told. If MB finds out, the dealership can lose their franchise. Same with the no-export rule for any new vehicle.
Can't imagine how fast this is going to initially depreciate. The regular SL65 is bad enough, but I too will be in line for the SL65BS after the big drop.

Not that it really means much, but I read somewhere that the SLS is targeted to be ~50% of the SLR's MSRP, or about $200k give or take. Kinda strange in that it would leave the SL65BS comfortably in the top spot for overall expense in MB's lineup.
