SL65.... I'll take the luxury beast over the stripped stallion, the removal of the amenities obviously increases performance of the scud but you will crush 99.9% of the cars out there in COMFORTABLE STYLE with the BS. Do you really need more than what the BS has to offer

my father has both of these cars and i have driven both aswell

The scud is just a pure track car and is an absolute beast. Its almost scary to drive!

the black series is more of a daily driver but is also a demon on the road.

I would take the Scuderia because at the end of the day, it is a Ferrari and besides the fact that it is absolutely georgeous, it performs amazingly.

As a Challenge Stradale owner, as well as an SL55 owner... I have driven both the Scud and the BS and I would have to go with the Suderia given this choice.

Go for RARE....

I own a 65 Black, but that's not why I choose it over the Italian Stallion. In my neighborhood, alone, there are four F430s (two of which are Scuderias). In the whole city, maybe two dozen. SL65 Black Series? Three that I know of and I've only seen one other (white), while driving around.

When driving down the boulevard, in the presence of an F430, I get all the attention...of course, until the stallion blips his throttle...damn nice.

When driving up the turnpike, 430 in my side view creeping fast... I stomp the throttle and disappear from his view.

Yes, Ferrari is a wet dream for all your senses, but the gorgeous stallion is far to common among the wealthy for me to become JUST ANOTHER 430 OWNER...all due respect, of course, to the F430s......

There's a LOT more SLs than F430s, since we're apparently classing the Scuderia as "just another F430"

now to comply, id go with the benz if you plan to drive it much or the scud if you dont plan to drive all that much....

How many Scuds are there, US only?

Yeah, I should brush up on my Italian first... Rare to find actual Scuderias, but a load of normal 430s. Sorry about the downplay of Scuds... my gearshift says there are only 150 SL Blacks nationwide, how many Scuds are there in US?

VeryBlackSL65,

How often do you drive your SL65 Black? Is is a car that can be driven on a daily basis?

The 65 Black gets a once every Sunday blowing out of the cobwebs... The damn thing is so calm and smooth, unless you're gett'in on it, you're just driving a standard SL Class (just don't drive in front of a big, office window and see your reflection). So, you could, easliy, drive the beast every day. That's exactly where the Ferrari differs like water and oil.

I would love to have the Scuderia to blip the throttle on Main Street every Sunday and use the Black Series as my daily.

well, that is a tough one. I just came from an amg driving school and got to drive an SL and I have to admit, it was smooth and fast......but, I also have to admit that getting into a ferrari everyday would be a dream come true.

short story: after college 9/11 had just happened and I had to find work. I finally ended up getting a job at a grocery store. I had a 4 year degree and my boss was some punk kid in highschool that drove a mustang. He thought he was the $|-||T. He talked down to me and was just a down right *****. I had to walk to work cause I couldnt afford a car. Im kind of a drinker and this kid thought that anyone who drank was a fool and should get out of the country because they were bad citizens. I told him that this world revolves around the martini glass and he scoffed at me. Im 33 now and my career has gone very well thus far (Im in the oil business) I can afford a ferrari right now but it wouldnt be a smart buying decision in these volatile times lol. But some day im going to show up to that punks house and hand him a martini glass with my ferrari sitting in his drive-way LOL.

I have odd goals in life....but, they keep me going

oh ya, scud all the way!!!!!

LOL I would take the F430 SCUD and then put a twin turbo kit on from underground racing. At that point I would have 1500 RWHP and would smash everything is sight.

so if you have 300k to spend you could get the car used for 200k to 220k and then use the 100k to 80k left over plus and some of your own money to get the 130k for the underground package.

loool. you guys make me laugh

The SL65 BS is sexier, better looking, more powerful, more stylish and beats the living hell out of the scuderiai when racing on a highway

you get more attention when driving a BS than you do driving a scuderia

huh the underground twin turbo F430 SCUD smashes the veyron so I think the SL black would be cake. They also have a packages for the gallardo. This is an idea what underground can do:

It seems looking back at this the ferrari's are selling for less than the black series now. I think the Black Series is an amazing car, they are very impressive and I would probably take one over a scud.

Now that the Ferrari 458 Italia is out, maybe it's time for a re-poll....

Awkward since you posted the Heffner Gallardo you really seem to know your cars

By the way my opinion is if you can get an SLR, get an SLR. I don't care if it's used, it's an SLR. It's a hypercar, the looks, the sound, the interior, the presence. I couldn't decide between a Scud and a BS but the SLR would have me laughing at both
