Quote: H*ll no..... I was just referring to a standard SLR, not even a 722 let alone a 722 GT The 722 GT would rape a black series

Sometimes I think magazine times get bashed too much. There's as much variation with real world reported times as there is with magazine reported times. No timed result--magazine or real world--is proof that a given car can produce the same result all the time regardless of track or weather conditions. (steps off soap box)

Here's the Fastest Laps comparison of reported SLR and SL65BS times. Only limited data and unfortunately no 0-300km time for the SL65BS. From: http://www.fastestlaps.com/index.php...=4585984cab946

As far as comparing SL55s to SL65s, modified SL65s have self-reported 1/4 mile times ranging from 10.85 to 11.66 seconds (http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...ag-Racing.html). Three different SL55s, including mine, have already run faster than 11.66 seconds (http://www.dragtimes.com/Mercedes-Be...ag-Racing.html). Havoc is working hard to make his car the most powerful and fastest SL55 yet to hit the road. It will almost certainly run 1/4 miles in the range of modified SL65s; the only question is where in the range it will fall.

I also have to agree that even if you get the times. They are not the bread and butter of what these cars will run

I also agree that stating times from the best preped, best weather tracks is also not fair simply for the mater of fact take the car to a different climate, track and the times will vary heavly am not going to even mention normal roads

To me on the road is what maters and form what i recall hearing a chipped sl65 can start to pull on an SLR at high speeds think past 280kmph not sure though

More power to you! I wasn't insulting your progress whatsoever, I found your comment:

Quote: Long live the 55K!!
Hilarious! I pictured Martin Lawrence from Black Knight (not sure if you're familiar with the movie) shouting it when he yells: "Power to the people!"

Sorry if you took offense to it!

No, I didn't take it that way, bro!
Havoc doesn't get offended that easy though my cockiness may sometimes suggest otherwise. Just clowning around that's all.

Yeah, I remember that quote... that's funny!

Quote: Wow! I was not expecting that. That ZR1 is really something!

There has to be high speed (140 plus) data on the 65 Black somewhere.

I have just found 0-180 MPH on the Mcmerc
Mercedes SLR does it in 28 secs

if only we knew how long it took the Black to reach that speed we might have found our anwser?
The ZR1 is an amazing machine, I have a 2010 ZR1 3ZR coming in Cyber Grey Metallic in a month, can't wait to see what it can do.

Only reason I could see the SLR holding off the SL Black at these speeds might be aerodynamics? What do you guys think?
im pretty sure thats not an sl65 black

Stock vs stock...my money is on the SLR. The SL65 BS's much bigger wing and wider body work is going to create a lot more aerodynamic drag up top. The US spec SL65 BS is also a portly 4,250lbs...the SLR weighs under 4K lbs.
