Cheap Mod, Great Upgrade!

Today I went to a Pep Boys and purchased a High Flow performance air filter for $26.00. I have been waiting for over 2 months for a supplier in Britian to get me a Green Cotton twin cone filter and got tired of the wait. It would have cost me over $200.00 for this filter as the Euro vs Dollar exchange rate and the high cost of shipping. As you can see by the photo it goes on with the OE hose. I have a 2003 so it must be for a newer SLK. The HP increase was unreal. You can feel the difference right away. Try it as you only have $26.00 to lose but very cheap hp to gain.

Guys, I will fabricating a bracket to make it look professional. Next up the my Supersprint muffler which should be here in 2 weeks. Along with my larger crank pulley and Supersprint header my car is really starting to rock. It is like a whole new car with power to burn. I am going to fabricate a heatshield for the air filter and will post photos and any other updates along my journey. A dyno from Evosport and a Powerchip ECU upgarde may be on my short list. Not much else to do. I am also researching sound proofing materials, along with the top of the line Pioneer Nav/DVD/CD/MP3/Rear view camera!!!!!
