i have a few questions about the SLK (R170)
well im planing to buy an slk and there were a few things on my mind well is there alot of diffrence between the euro and the american slk engine-enterior etc.. and when was the slks face lift and u found something strange where the ashtray is located what is that is it the engine oil heater timer???

1998-Intro of R170(no sport package)
1999-AMG sport package introduced, 5-speed manual available
2000-Limited edition model(Obsidian black paint, 17" evo wheels)
2001-6-speed manual replaces 5-speed, compression ratio upped from 8.8:1 to 9.0:1, horsepower up 7 from 185 to 192, restyled front and rear bumpers and sideskirts & become body color(from black plastic),tailights slightly restyled(white plastic becomes clear), new SLK320 V6
2002- SLK32 AMG model introduced, sport package wheels become"ultra thin" design and package restyled
2003-no changes
2004-Last year:Special edition model
