6 Speed Manual Feedback Needed
I have a 1999 SLK230 and love it. I have my eye on a 2001 SLK230 Sport with a 6 speed manual transmission. I have always liked driving a manual, and think the car would be more fun with one. I have read mixed reviews on the SLK 6 speed. Does anyone have any feedback that would help my decision?

I've got a SLK 320 w/ AMG sport pack, six-speed manual gearbox, and I love it! 
The sixth gear is not like an overdrive-gear, so in 130 km/h you're doing 3000 rpm. Thanks to the torque you can choose any gear (almost) at any speed, still getting a decent acceleration. 
Only thing I don't like is that you won't reach 100 km/h in 2nd gear.

A fun drive
I have a 2001 SLK320 with the 6-speed and love it as well. However, some say the "short" gearbox takes a bit of getting used to. By short, they mean that the physical distance between shifts is less than most would consider typical. I noticed it right away, but not in a negative way. I find it to be extremely responsive and a kick to drive. Mechanically, I have never had a problem. Hope that helps.
