SLK230 Need Help with Dashboard Lights, EC, ESP
I am a new owner of a 2002 SLK230. I bought it used and so there was no drivers manual included. I never look at the things anyways, but I do have some questions on the car. Any help would be very much appreciated.
1. What is EC? Is this the same as Air Conditioning?
2. What is ESP? There is an "ESP OFF" button, and I am wondering when to push it.
3. One button has a picture of a car with a tow hook and the word "off". What is this one for? I assume I push it when I need a tow.
4. I have attached pictures of the right and left dashboard light indicators. Could someone tell me what each of these symbols mean? I can recognize windsheild wiper fluid, oil, check engine, emergency brake, battery and seat belt. What are the other cyptic symbols?
5. How do I toggle my fog lights? I've attached a picture of the switch, but I have no idea what the little green and red symbols on the bottom left signify. I can't turn the switch to select these, and they aren't buttons either.

I believe EC is "economny mode" which, when turned on actually means your Air Con is off.

Active Safety Systems: ESP
ESP: Electronic Stability Program:
Increases stability when cornering by helping to control oversteer and understeer

cannot remember and dont have my manual to hand

Lights are turned on by turning the switch, dim & normal
Fogs are turned on by pulling the switch toward you.

Also you dont engage airbag off button itds only a check light.
Green on fog (pull switch when past off) is front fogs, red is rear fogs.
EC turns "off" the aircon pump.
Need to turn "off" esp (asr) when towing or rear wheels will lock up due to traction control being activated due to front wheels not turning and rear turning. Vehicle thinks you are havine a prob!
