Alarm goes off by itself
Hey all! My 2002 slk 320 last night decided to set off its alarm at 11 pm and then again at 220 am. Car is in garage with windows closed and doors locked. Of course MB was on the job and called me about 10 mins after each event to ask me if all was well. I will be taking car in tomorrow to see what the problem is. I have searched the archives and several others have reported a problem such as mine relating to a 'pse vacuum pump'. My question is: has anyone recently experienced this alarm problem or if one of the previous posters did, did the resolution from MB solve their alarm problem? Thanks in advance.

I had it on a CLK. Dealer plugged in his computer, diagnosed it and replaced the pump under warranty
Other things that cause alarms going off are insects/spiders on the movement sensors - but I dont think the SLK has those.. loose door/trunk switches etc.

alarm story continues
so i take it into the dealer and they replace control module. i park it at a fast food place and as i look out the window, the alarm goes off, lights flash etc. i take it home and set the alarm and it goes off every 3 minutes or so. popped the fuse and i will be back at the dealer first thing in the a.m.. gotta love it

Hi,
I had the same problem with my SLK, then after going mad one day, I did a search on the net and found someone talking about misaligned doors. Checked to see if my alarm would go off when I hit it inside.. yes that was the answer!! It did not fully press the door switch when closed, the solution was then obvious...
